Halloween 1962

Did you think we were done with the Jack and Jill All Hallows fun this month? Oh, Hell no... not when I waltz into an antique shop just days before Halloween and find yet another vintage October issue of J&J staring back at me from a shelf! It's from 1962, and so packed with excellent tricks 'n treats, it might just take 2 posts to get it all in before the big day! So here we go again-- enjoy!

Wizard Halloween Air Fresheners

A pair of cute, early 80's Halloween air fresheners from Wizard, each containing a bottom label warning for adults to inform children that though this wacky witch and scrumptious skeleton might look tasty, they are most certainly just sculpted hunks of fragrant wax and are absolutely NOT TO BE EATEN! Yes, nearly 4 decades old and they are still very much potent with a strong festive scent-- plus the skeleton still glows in the dark too!

Who? Boo!

This is the last of the Halloween related material that I'll be posting from the October 1969 issue of Jack and Jill Magazine-- a couple of spooky cute stories with great artwork, plus a fun OO game! Hope everyone is enjoying the AEET Halloween thrills 'n chills so far this month-- lots more creepy crawlies on the way too, so stay tombed...

Pumpkin Planet

We've been looking at Halloween highlights from the spooktacular October 1969 issue of Jack and Jill magazine all this month so far, and now it's time to pose the question: What would our favorite holiday be without pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns, and all things gloriously orange? Well, not ALL things (insert political rant here) --but here are a few appropriately themed bits o'fun, (highlighted by super cute artwork as usual) to get you excited about picking up that razor sharp blade and carving, hacking, slashing, and stabbing a frightening face into that wacky, weird ass fruit. (FYI: Grows on a vine, has seeds = fruit)

For a Night in October

I promised you all some jolting terror from the October 1969 issue of Jack and Jill Magazine (see previous post) and here we go with even more grisly games and petrifying puppets and all sorts of satanic projects and poems to make you scream with unholy Hellfire! Will there be more unrelenting madness in our next post too, you ponder? Of course!

MORE TO COME...

Eerie Evening Party

We always try our hardest to get everyone into the Halloween spirit around here, and usually we start way earlier than this, but this year-- well-- this year has been a bitch. But that doesn't mean we can't finally, and officially, get this All Hallow's party started! And let's make it an Eerie Evening Party too, with a little help from our double J friends who always seem to know how to make the best decorations and masks, and which games are the most fun to play! And we're going to need some tasty treats for you tricksters as well! (Jack and Jill, Oct. 1969.)

MORE FROM THIS ISSUE UP NEXT!
